Sergio Herman announced as new master chef for KLM

8th December 2008 Print
From December 1, KLM Royal Dutch Airlines will serve its World Business Class passengers meals created by Dutch master chef Sergio Herman of Restaurant Oud Sluis in Zeeland.

Restaurant Oud Sluis has been awarded no fewer than three Michelin stars. Last month, the restaurant was voted best in the Netherlands for the fourth year by leading local restaurant guide “Lekker”. Sergio Herman was also recently voted best chef of 2008 by his Dutch peers.

“KLM is proud of its Dutch roots and wishes to underscore this by working with leading local chef Sergio Herman,” said Bart Vos, head of KLM Inflight Services.

“The exclusive meals will contribute to the inspirational journey we promise our passengers.

“Creating meals for KLM was a quest into what is and isn’t possible,” says Sergio Herman. “Quality and creativity are always uppermost in my mind. I hope to give a small impression of that which occupies my daily life – with feeling, flavor and passion!”

Sergio Herman’s dishes will be served aboard flights from Amsterdam from December 1, 2008, through April 1, 2009.
