bmi improves Scotland – Leeds schedule

14th July 2009 Print
bmi Regional has introduced a more convenient schedule on flights from Scotland to Leeds Bradford for its Summer 2009 timetable. As of 29 June 2009, the airline will operate twice daily flights out of Glasgow and Edinburgh to Leeds Bradford at improved times to allow for a full working day to be spent in Leeds.

bmi Regional will also introduce a larger aircraft on flights from Glasgow to Leeds Bradford, increasing capacity by a third.

bmi also recently announced a summer offer to give Diamond Club members the opportunity to earn thousands of bonus destinations miles. Members of bmi’s Diamond Club can earn more than double the usual amount of miles when travelling on a return flight from now until 31 July 2009 on all UK and European short haul routes, further reinforcing Diamond Club as the UK’s most generous frequent flyer programme.

Diamond Club members travelling on a Business and Economy Flexible fare will earn an additional 4,000 destinations miles for every return flight. Members traveling on an Economy fare will earn an additional 3,000 destinations miles for every return flight and those traveling on a Low Economy fare an additional, 1000 destinations miles. The miles will be automatically credited to the individual or company account.

Peter Kenworthy, commercial director of bmi Regional said:

“The new schedule for our Scotland to Leeds Bradford route and the increased capacity on flights out of Glasgow reflects our commitment to key business destinations within the UK. bmi Regional has been the UK’s most punctual airline for four years running and through improved schedules and fantastic rewards for Diamond Club members, we strive to provide business and leisure travellers with the best possible level of service and added benefits to ensure a hassle-free and rewarding journey for all of our customers.”

bmi now offers paperless boarding on all domestic routes, allowing customers to check in online up to 24 hours in advance, choose their seat and have their boarding pass delivered electronically to their mobile phone or PDA as an MMS, avoiding check in queues and saving valuable travel time. Unlike paperless boarding with other airlines, which requires passengers to print their electronic barcode upon arrival at the airport, bmi passengers are able to scan the barcode directly from their mobile phone or PDA.

bmi Regional continues to be the UK’s most punctual airline offering flights from key UK airports including Aberdeen, Birmingham, East Midlands, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Leeds Bradford Norwich and Manchester. bmi Regional is an all jet fleet with business and economy fares and service, lounge facilities for business passengers and Diamond Club members and e-ticket and online check-in. bmi’s regional, short haul and European departures now do not include fuel surcharges as part of the airline’s commitment to offering the best value for money for travellers.
