Bahraini students complete summer training at Gulf Air

This summer, national carrier Gulf Air offered an opportunity for 30 young Bahraini students to gain on-the-job experience at its headquarters.

The candidates, selected from different universities and institutes, coming from various backgrounds such as Engineering, Information Technology and Computer Science, underwent a two-month summer training programme working in the airline’s various departments, gaining first-hand knowledge of how an airline is run.

"As the national carrier of the Kingdom, Gulf Air considers providing training opportunities as part of its corporate responsibility to empower young nationals and equip them with necessary skills towards rewarding careers," said Gulf Air Chief People Officer Mr. Ahmed Al Banna congratulating the candidates.

"The practical experience you gain during this period not only gives you an exposure to the day-to-day operations of how an airline is run but also builds you with enough confidence to face the job market, raising your prospects of employability. This is an ideal way to learn about an industry while giving you a chance to hone your skills."

During the training period, the trainees worked in several divisions of the airline such as customer care, human resources, operations, etc and were able apply their theoretical knowledge into practical use.

Candidates were drawn from, Ahlia University, Arab Open University, Bahrain Institute of Banking and Finance, Bahrain Training Institute, University College of Bahrain and University of Bahrain.
