A taste of Christmas in Iceland

25th November 2008 Print

With Christmas less than a month away, airline company Iceland Express is inviting holidaymakers to start their festivities early by tucking into a traditional Icelandic Christmas dinner.

The buffet package aims to tantalise travellers’ taste buds with a feast of Icelandic cuisine such as Icelandic lamb, smoked salmon, honey glazed smoked saddles of pork and for desert, Icelandic skyr with blueberry sorbet.

Holidaymakers have a choice of three popular Reykjavik restaurants for their dining experience including Restaurant Reykjavik, Silfur and Laekjarbrekka.

This is to accompany the recently launched Shop and the City Package, enabling travellers to do their Christmas shopping by day and dine by night.

The festive feast will cost an additional ISK 5.000 – ISK 7.500 (approximately £25 - £37) and is available on weekends including 28 – 30 November, 5 – 7 December and 12 – 14 December.

The Shop and the City package, which includes 10-20 per cent discount vouchers to Reykjavik’s best boutiques and shops including Cintamani, Kraum, IDA bookstore, discounts at selected restaurants, reduced rates on Blue Lagoon skincare products, a three-star hotel room for two nights and a return flight with Iceland Express, costs just £195 per person.
