Glacier walking in Switzerland

Actioned-packed family holidays – with highlights including a guided walk over a glacier and a night in a mountain hut at an altitude of 2,700m – is the offer this summer from the Switzerland Travel Centre.

These seven-night holidays – available between 25 July and 29 August – are based at the four-star Hotel Disentiserhof in Switzerland’s Rhine Valley, a four-star property with lots of facilities including pool, fitness room and bowling alley.

The hotel, which specialises in family holidays, has morning clubs for children aged between two and 12 years, while the afternoons are devoted to family activities which include - in addition to glacier walking - guided rambles with cooking over an open fire.

The twin share price of £779 per adult and £299 per child (under 12 years) applies between the above dates and includes return flights from Heathrow or London City, rail transfers and seven nights’ half-board accommodation (including an overnight adventure in a mountain hut). Children aged between 12 and 15 years pay £489 each.

Afternoon family activities are also included in the price, along with entertainment/clubs for the children.
