The American Bus Association has named a Kansas event among North America’s 100 Best Events in 2010.

The American Bus Association (ABA) recently announced that Dodge City Days Festival has been designated as one of the “2010 Top 100 Events in North America” by an elite tourism industry selection committee.

The American Bus Association’s top 100 list, published as a supplement to the September/October issue of Destinations magazine, includes events that offer excellent entertainment value to both tour groups and individual travellers from around the world. This is the fifth year Dodge City Days has graced ABA’s Top 100 Events list; marking 1990, 1993, 2007 and 2008 as years on the list.

Celebrating its 50th anniversary in 2010, Dodge City Days is a 10-day celebration in one of the country last remaining Wild West towns, Dodge City. With a western theme, event highlights include the top-rated Dodge City Days Rodeo, a craft show with over 200 crafters, KidFest, professional barbeque contest, a western parade and the crowning of Miss Rodeo Kansas and Miss Rodeo Kansas Princess.

2010 marks the 28th year the American Bus Association has released its list of Top 100 Events in North America. In the past five years, 10 other events in Kansas, including the Amelia Earhart Festival in Atchison (2005), Grassland Heritage Festival in Elkhart (2005), River Festival in Wichita (2006) and McPherson Scottish Festival (2009) have been honoured as Top 100 Events. This list is one of the most sought-after by travel professionals, motor coach operators and the general public.
