Adventurous escapes for Christmas

20th October 2009 Print

Turkey and tinsel is not for everyone and adventure travel specialist Kumuka Worldwide is highlighting a choice of small group tours over the Christmas period.

West Coast Island Hopping combines the bright lights of Bangkok with the idyllic beaches of Khao Lak, Koh Yao Noi, Phi Phi Island and Krabi. A laid-back Christmas Day will be spent on Krabi’s spectacular Nopparathara Beach, reached by long tail boat. The trip starts in Bangkok on 19 December, ends in Krabi on 27 December and includes eight nights’ bed and breakfast in a mix of beach bungalows and local home-stays and costs £445.

Highlights of China is a cultural Christmas trip: a three-centre tour starting 19 December and moving from Beijing to Xi’an before ending in Shanghai, including visits to the Great Wall, the Forbidden City and other Beijing icons, as well as the Terracotta Warriors and Wild Goose Pagoda in Xi’an and Shanghai’s Jade Buddha Temple. The seven-night tour, staying in hotels on a B&B basis costs £710.

And for Rum, Rumba and Revolution, join Kumuka in Havana on 18 December for two weeks exploring the length and breadth of Cuba while staying in three- and four-star hotels at a cost of £1,315.

All prices are per person based on two sharing and include the services of a Kumuka tour manager throughout and all local transport during the tours, but not international flights, which may be arranged on request.
