Air Southwest launches ‘Plane Amazing’ birthday search

Air Southwest is celebrating its sixth birthday today (Monday October 26) by launching its ‘Plane Amazing’ award for individuals or groups that have made a real difference to the lives of others.

Passengers on all Air Southwest flights today will be presented with special birthday cards asking for nominations to help Britain’s Local Airline find and say ‘thank you’ to the most deserving recipients.

To link with Air Southwest’s sixth birthday, the winner will receive six free return flights on any of Air Southwest’s UK, Ireland or Channel Islands destinations.

Anyone can make a nomination until 6th November. Simply visit airsouthwest.com/happybirthday and tell Air Southwest in less than 50 words how someone has given a real lift to those around them and what they would be able to do with six free flights.

Since the airline’s first flight to Gatwick Airport six years ago today, Air Southwest has carried over 1.67 million customers across its route network, connecting the South West to eleven destinations across the UK and Ireland, making it the largest operator of flights from Plymouth and Newquay Airports. Air Southwest also flies from Bristol to five destinations in the UK and Channel Islands.

In the past year Air Southwest has introduced new services to London City Airport and winter ski flights to Grenoble, in addition to a new year-round connection from Plymouth to Guernsey.

Air Southwest’s Commercial Director Mike Coombes said: “Our success has been based on treating our customers as individuals, not just reservation numbers, which is why we’re asking for their help in finding a deserving winner or winners for our Plane Amazing award.

“It might be an individual or a group, but what they will have in common is that they have gone the extra mile to make a real difference to the lives of others. The Plane Amazing award is our way of saying thank you to the communities which we serve”.
