Barratt West London has launched Golden Mile House at its flagship development, Great West Quarter, in Brentford.

A showcase in modern living, the six-storey Golden Mile House comprises 46 one, two and three-bedroom apartments. Work has started on site and the homes are due for completion in summer 2010.

With its dramatic contemporary glass frontage, the external architecture of Golden Mile House takes its inspiration from the neighbouring Wallis House, a Grade II Listed Art Deco building which dates back to 1936.

Larger than many new town centre apartments, the one-bedroom apartments start from 459 sq ft, two-bedrooms range from 730 sq ft up to a generous 992 sq ft and three-bedroom apartments measure an exceptional 1,038 sq ft.

All homes afford flexible open-plan layouts with high ceilings which maximises light within the generously sized living areas. Each apartment also benefits from either a balcony or terrace with floor-to-ceiling windows which let the ‘outside in’.

Double bedrooms are equally well proportioned with ample storage space and soft down lighting which creates a relaxing and tranquil ambiance. Master bedrooms in all two and three-bedroom apartments have an ensuite bathroom in addition to the main bathroom.

Alastair Baird, Managing Director of Barratt West London comments: “We are delighted to be launching Golden Mile House. The previous phases at Great West Quarter have been extremely popular and we are looking forward to Golden Mile House continuing the development’s success story.

“The development is still at a relatively early stage – it will be another few years before the commercial space is built - so now really is the best time to make a sound investment.”

When complete, Great West Quarter will provide 773 one, two and three-bedroom apartments, including both private and affordable homes, shops, restaurants, a bar, a health club, an art gallery, a crèche, an hotel and serviced apartments. The central piazza, extending to over an acre, has been designed as a venue for public events and will provide the setting for a number of art installations. This piazza, along with courtyards and play areas, will create a focal point for community activities.

Landscaping at Great West Quarter has been designed by Whitelaw Turkington and will include a green corridor for wildlife, while bat and bird boxes constructed on the site will enhance natural biodiversity.

Chiswick High Road is a short distance away, boasting a wealth of trendy boutiques, vibrant bars and restaurants. Brentford station (National Rail) is an approximate 10 minute walk short and Waterloo can be reached in under 35 minutes. South Ealing underground station, which is on the Piccadilly line, is only a 15 minute walk and central London can be reached in approximately 40 minutes.

Prices at Golden Mile House start from £230,000 for a one-bedroom apartment.
