Pet-friendly holidays in Devon

11th December 2009 Print

It’s certainly true that a dog is a ‘man’s best friend’ says Woolacombe Bay Holiday Parks which has expanded its range of ‘pet-friendly’ accommodation for 2010.

The North Devon-based company, which introduced ‘pet friendly’ holidays in 2008, has been delighted with its year-on-year success, and so is expanding the choice of accommodation on offer to dog owners who are reluctant to leave their much-loved pet at home.

In addition to selected caravan holiday homes, the company is offering in 2010 two and three-bedroom ‘pet friendly’ luxury ‘Honeysuckle’ lodges (sleeping six or eight) and spacious Rose’ villas (sleeping up to six).

The accommodation has been carefully selected for easy access to footpaths and exercise areas and is equipped with lots of extras including a comfy dog bed (covers changed on every arrival), healthy treats, a doggy toy, food and water bows, plus the essential pooper-scooper.

Guests are also provided with a special ‘Woof Guide’ packed full of useful information including details of coastal and countryside footpaths, ‘doggy friendly’ pubs and restaurant, details of local vets and pet groomers, along with dog walking trails at the Parks themselves.

For bookings made by 28 February, the company is offering reductions of 30% on all holidays taken between 5 June and 31 July, which means, for example, a week from 5 June in a two-bedroom Honeysuckle Lodge now costs £535.  Peak season early booking deals are also available, with a week in early August now priced at £758.  A sum of £20 per week is payable for each canine friend in the party.
