Walking holidays in Corsica

27th January 2010 Print

Walking holidays in Corsica – following shepherds trails, mule tracks and country lanes through breathtaking scenery of valleys, deep gorges and pine forests – is the offer for the first time in 2010 from specialist operator, Belle France.

Highlights of this seven-night holiday for the independent walker- which is available between April and October – include the coastal town of Ajaccio, the Niolu Valley – surrounded by the island’s highest mountain summits – picturesque mountain villages such as Evisa, the granite walls in the Spelunca Gorge and the amazing rock formations at Calanche de Piana.

Walking is moderate – around seven miles per day with some strenuous sections – but plenty of time is allowed for leisurely picnic lunches, cooling dips in mountain pools and swimming and snorkelling in small coves and bays.

The twin share price of £965 per person (£1030 per person in July and August) includes mainly half-board hotel accommodation, luggage transfers between hotels, plus detailed maps and notes.  Flights are not included – direct flights from Gatwick to Ajaccio are available with Easyjet.
