Vauxhall Movano

To celebrate the launch of Movano, Vauxhall is giving away £1,400 worth of options, to include air conditioning, a multi-function trip computer, vehicle alarm and Bluetooth connectivity.  Known as the Launch Pack, it will be offered on new Movanos until July 31 this year.

In addition, Vauxhall is also introducing a new Expression model, priced at just £20,250, bringing the entry level cost of Movano ownership down by £1,410 below the price of the L2H2 3300 panel van. While the Expression is the only Movano model not to benefit from the Launch Pack, it still gets a generous helping of standard kit, such as electric windows/mirrors and a full bulkhead.

But this value-for-money theme continues throughout the range. Whether it’s the front-wheel drive 3300, 2.3 CDTi Expression panel van with 100PS on tap, or one of the many  rear-wheel drive, long wheelbase Movano derivatives with engine outputs up to 146PS, all feature a height adjustable driver’s seat, aux-in connection, adjustable steering column, all-round disc brakes with ABS and a brake-pad wear indicator.

Tailor-made for every need

The Movano’s cargo area offers among the best in class for accessibility, loading ease, and load capacity in its segment. Three wheelbases from 3.18 to 4.33 metres can be specified, and four exterior lengths from 5.05 to 6.85 metres, allowing on-floor cargo load lengths from 2.58 to 4.38 metres. There are also three interior roof heights from 1.7 to 2.14 metres, while load volume ranges from 8.0 to 17 cubic metres.

Complementing this versatility are payloads which have now increased to 2.5 tonnes on the twin-wheel platform. Gross vehicle weights range from 2.8 to 4.5 tonnes.

This higher payload and GVW is made possible by the new Movano’s unique, modular platform, meaning that for the first time it can be configured with rear-wheel drive, as well as front-wheel drive. This adaptability also makes the Movano ideal for tailor-made conversions, such as drop-sides, tippers and box vans, all of which will be available to order from this summer.

The other major benefit for customers is that the maximum towing weight for the Movano range has now increased to 3 tonnes, thanks to the option of rear-wheel drive/twin rear wheels, while front-wheel drive, single wheel versions can tow up to 2.5 tonnes.

Maintenance/wear & tear costs down by 24%; best in class-matching fuel economy

Compared with previous Movanos, the new vehicle achieves cost savings of up to 24 per cent over four years and 150,000kms (approx. 93,000 miles). Spare and wear and tear parts – especially brake and clutch components – are particularly durable, while maintenance costs are much lower. Oil changes are now only required every 25,000 miles (or annually) and coolant only needs to be changed at approximately 100,000 miles, an impressive 25,000 miles more than its predecessor.

The new Movano’s exceptional fuel economy and low emissions are also set to benefit operators who continue to be hit hard by rising diesel costs. In fact, no other van in class can beat the Movano 3.5t L2H2 125PS panel van with its combined fuel consumption of 35.3mpg and combined CO2emissions of just 211g/km.

“With the addition of the new Movano’s generous launch pack, Vauxhall is setting the standard for value in the highly competitive CV market,” said Andy Gilson, Vauxhall’s Marketing Director. “Add in class-leading running costs and support from one of the UK’s largest specialist retailer networks, and we’re sure that our customers will find that, for the new Movano, no job is too big.”
