This summer sees the return of the highly successful and popular Royal Leamington Spa Food & Drink Festival which takes place on Saturday 11 & Sunday 12 September.

The Royal Pump Room Gardens will once again be a hive of activity with live music and performances from local artists, radio broadcasts, special markets, cookery demonstrations, competitions and a feast of culinary traders. Organised by BID Leamington, the Festival with free entry, is set to be an even bigger success than last year, which attracted over 12,000 people.

Visitors can enjoy a host of exciting events and activities over the two days including the popular ‘Taste Trail’, an International Food Market, Warwickshire Farmers Market, live demonstrations in the Aga Rangemaster Cookery Theatre, specialist local producers, competitions and the chance to sample a wide selection of world-wide dishes. New for 2010 will be a voucher book featuring some fantastic and exclusive offers to redeem within local retailers.

Live music will be provided by a number of local talented bands including ‘Lament’. Fronted by Kath Kimber, the five piece band brings together a fusion of Latin, jazz and flamenco. Visitors can also enjoy performances by Beth Tysall who performed recently at Leamington Live as well as Night Trippers, the Sheila Fawkes Jazz Band and Charred Grizzle, an engaging and charming piece of storytelling enthralling all ages. On Sunday, the renowned Levi Roots and his Reggae Reggae Recipes will be putting music into food at the Cookery Theatre. Visitors can listen to his chilled out vibes and try some of his tasty new meals.

Planning is well underway and those who want to take part are urged to book now. Last year the event attracted over 70 exhibitors representing local, regional, national and international produce and products. All the exhibitors reported significant sales and were delighted with the results.

Helen Smith, Executive Director of BID Leamington, stated “Whether you're a serious foodie or someone who just appreciates good food and drink, there will be plenty to entertain you at this year's festival. This is a fantastic opportunity for local businesses to showcase their culinary skills and the quality of food & drink they offer to a much wider audience.”
