The luxurious Ford Galaxy claims the BusinessCar overall MPV award for the fourth year running, while Ford's sporty S-MAX has been awarded the Mini-MPV award.

Galaxy

The elegant Ford Galaxy has strengthened its segment-leading credentials by claiming BusinessCar's overall MPV award for the fourth consecutive year.

The revised model features 2.0-litre diesel engines of 115, 140 and 163PS power outputs with emissions starting as low as 152g/km CO2.  New and innovative technologies have been introduced, including Ford's Blind Spot Information System and Adjustable Speed Limiter device.

Sales of the Ford Galaxy, the UK's top selling seven-seat MPV, have topped 147,000 since 1996 and the award winner continues to outsell its nearest competitor six to one.

S-MAX

The segment-leading Ford S-MAX has added to its list of accolades, claiming another MPV award for its trophy cabinet.

Like the Galaxy, the S-MAX has been updated with new powertrains, including Ford's new EcoBoost petrol engine, alongside Ford's smooth and frugal new Powershift automatic transmission.

Ford's S-MAX has sold over 41,000 vehicles in the UK since its 2006 launch.

Kevin Griffin, director of fleet operations, Ford of Britain, said: "We are delighted to receive such prestigious awards.  We aim to match closely the needs of our business customers and the wants of individual drivers and these awards demonstrate that we have succeeded with both the S-MAX and the Galaxy."
