Flybe flies into Sunday Times Deloitte Top Track 100

Flybe is celebrating after being recognised as one Britain’s biggest private companies in the annual Sunday Times Deloitte Top Track 100 league table released this month.

The Southwest based airline, who was placed in the top 250 last year, has climbed the table to number 98 and broken into the exclusive top 100 after reporting an 8% rise in sales to £577m and carrying 7.3m passengers.

Flybe is the only company from Devon and Cornwall to have made it into the Top Track 100, and takes its place alongside stalwarts of British commerce to include John Lewis, Specsavers and House of Fraser.

In a year when the aviation industry has been faced with many challenges, from the global recession to the volcanic ash incident, Flybe has continued to go from strength to strength, positioning itself as the leading domestic carrier in the UK.  The airline has continued to grow services from its many bases across the UK while maintaining a thriving and profitable airline.

Jim French, Flybe CEO and Chairman, comments: “Being included in the Top Track 100 for the first time is a great achievement for Flybe and the fact that we are the only company in it from Devon and Cornwall is an even bigger thrill.  We’re proud to be a regional champion and look forward to many more years of growth that supports the local Exeter economy."
