New cast for Dirty Dancing West End musical

The cast of Dirty Dancing

The brand new London company is announced today, for Dirty Dancing - the Classic Story on Stage, currently in its 4th year at the Aldwych Theatre in London’s West End. The new company will take to the stage for the first time on Monday 26 July.
 
Joining the previously announced Dancing On Ice star Ray Quinn (who will play Billy Kostecki) and BBC’s So You Think You Can Dance winner Charlie Bruce (who joins the dance ensemble and understudies the leading role of ‘Baby’), the Canadian born and Royal Winnipeg Ballet dancer Johnny Wright will fulfil a personal lifetime dream to take on the iconic lead role of ‘Johnny Castle’, the dance teacher from the ‘wrong side of the tracks’ whose relationship with Frances ‘Baby’ Houseman forms the central plot to this exhilarating production.
 
Johnny will play opposite Hannah Vassallo, who continues in the iconic leading role of ‘Baby Houseman’ and Nadia Coote as ‘Penny Johnson’.
 
Joining Johnny Wright in the London production of Dirty Dancing are Paul Gilmore, in the role of ‘Jake Houseman’, Hilary MacLean as Jake’s wife ‘Marjorie Houseman’, James Leece as ‘Robbie Gould’, Maxine Gregory as ‘Vivian Pressman’, and Christopher Kenniston and Richard Hope as Neil and Max Kellerman.

The 2010/ 2011 London company will also include Wayne Anthony Cole, Amy Bennett, Jacquie Biggs, Karl Bowe, Kevin Clifton, Henry Davis, Antony Edridge, Tanya Edwards, Rachel Ensor, Caroline Haines, Helen Harper, Jamie Hughes- Ward, Tony James- Andersson, Frankie Jenna, Mark Jennings, Anabel Kutay, Maurice Lane, Richard Lloyd King, Carly Mercedes Dyer, Sandy Moffat, Dominique Provost- Chalkley, Lucy Sinclair, Russell Smith, Joyce Springer, Alain Terzoli, Alan Vincent and Russell Walker.

Dirty Dancing - the hit West End production, is now in its fourth year and has been seen by over one million people in the UK, thrilling audiences on a nightly basis. Due to overwhelming demand, the show recently released over 200,000 additional tickets – extending its booking period until April 2011 and taking Dirty Dancing into its astounding fifth year at the Aldwych Theatre.
