Chilled storage and distribution specialists, PCL Transport Ltd., has taken delivery of 70 new Euro 5 Renault Premium 460.25, 6x2 and 4x2 tractor units with  the Optidriver gearbox. In an important conquest deal for Renault Trucks and Renault Trucks Chiltern, the new vehicles have now completely replaced the company’s previously all Scania fleet.

The Renault Premiums will be used to transport fresh milk and cream to major multiples across the South East on behalf of Arla Foods.

Martin Pearson, Operations Director, PCL Transport, says: “When looking to replace our fleet, we found that Renault Trucks offered the best value for money and we were impressed by the all round quality of the Renault Premium. Driver feedback so far has been very positive with the comfortable and spacious cab proving popular. The Optidriver gearbox gives a more comfortable drive, as well as reducing vehicle downtime. We have also seen some fuel improvements, with the Renault Premiums delivering an increase in mpg over the old Scania fleet.”
