Newly-engaged Niall O’Loghlen and Barbara di Cara have found another ideal match – a stunning new home at Taylor Wimpey’s Drayton View development of houses for sale in Daventry.

Happy couple Dr Niall O’Loghlen and Barbara di Cara are looking forward to starting their new retired lives together at Taylor Wimpey’s Drayton View development of new homes in Daventry – after deciding to spend their future together on their second date.

The newly-betrothed pair are setting up home at the leading housebuilder’s desirable development of property for sale in Daventry after a whirlwind romance.

Barbara says: “We met through a national newspaper’s online dating site six months ago, and it was on our second date that we fell in love. On our recent holiday to Mexico, Niall went down on one knee and proposed and we plan to get married next year.

“Now we’ve managed to find our dream home and we just adore it.”

Barbara (59) and GP Niall (60) have snapped up a beautiful three-bedroom ‘Brecon’ townhouse at the Drayton View development of new houses in Daventry, and, just like their relationship, it was love at first sight!

“I just adore the three-storey layout,” says Barbara, a former Barclays Bank employee who is now a self-employed nutritional therapist, and is loving life in her new property in Daventry.

“We have a master suite on the top floor with a dressing area and en-suite bathroom, which feels incredibly luxurious.

“I’ve also been impressed with the sound insulation as you cannot hear the neighbours at all. To top it all, the house is very eco-friendly, with brilliant insulation meaning I’ve hardly had the heating on at all, and little touches like a water butt, compost bin and rotary drier all help to keep you green.”

Barbara has also been taken with Drayton View’s location.

“I’ve been looking to move and downsize for a long time, and did a lot of research,” she says. “I have always wanted to live near water and Drayton View is on the edge of a gorgeous reservoir and open countryside, so it’s a very idyllic place to be.”

Barbara and Niall have been impressed with the customer service they have received from Taylor Wimpey.

Barbara says: “The girls in the office, Agnes and Gill, have been wonderful. The house I bought had actually been reserved by somebody else, but the sale fell through, and as soon as that happened they let me know the situation. They’ve been really honest all the way through the buying process, and that’s something which means a lot to me.

“The site manager Lee has also impressed me. He’s been so efficient and pulled out all the stops to make sure I was happy.

“In fact, I’ve never praised a company before, but I’ve been in total awe of Taylor Wimpey.

“Everything has been handled so well, and in such a professional and friendly manner. Even my solicitor, Michael Dawe of Scott Fowler, sent a letter of thanks to the head office for their considerable help – especially that of the site agents in their attention to detail – and that’s something you don’t hear every day!”

A handful of properties are available to buy now at Drayton View, including one-bedroom apartments, complete with garages, priced from as little as £67,996* and three-bedroom houses from only £127,283* through Taylor Wimpey’s Easy Start shared equity scheme.

Forming part of the popular Middlemore development, Drayton View boasts 56 eco-friendly homes in a desirable semi-rural location with far-reaching vistas over open countryside.

A picturesque cul-de-sac development, Drayton View includes long established hedgerows, protected mature trees and open fields to the side.

Located on the northern edge of Daventry town and easily accessible from the M1, Middlemore benefits from children’s play areas, nature trails and cycleways, plus its own pub – an 18th century Grade II listed former farmhouse – and a convenience store.

A partnership between the local council and British Waterways has meant that Middlemore is part of a series of pretty linked walks that take in the wildlife sites along two local reservoirs, disused railway lines and the Grand Union Canal towpath.

Nearby Drayton Reservoir is one of the best for carp fishing in England and is surrounded by trees and waterside vegetation and a jetty-style wooden walkway. It also feeds into the Grand Union Canal, which is a conservation area.

Potential buyers who want to find out more about the homes for sale at Drayton View can visit the Sales Office off Farnborough Road, Daventry, open Thursday to Monday between 10am and 5pm.
