Daihatsu helping ‘First Responders’ save lives faster

Daihatsu helping ‘First Responders’ save lives faster Daihatsu dealer, Greenway Motors is supplying local charity, ‘The Chard & Tatworth First Responders’ with a multi-award winning Terios.

Running since July 2002, the Community First Responders provide 24-hour cover in rural locations and support the regular Ambulance Services by attending serious and life threatening 999 calls in and around the community. Responding to incidents in the area in which they live, means they can often arrive at the scene quicker than an ambulance.

Utilising the Daihatsu Terios’ easy access, 300-litre capacity boot space, and 4-wheel drive capability, the charity aims to knock extra life-saving minutes off their arrival time.

Tracey Hobbs, Chard & Tatworth First Responders Coordinator, said: “First responders are all volunteers and provide cover on a rota system organised by local community based groups. They dedicate their own free-time to training in order to not only help save lives, but also by raising funds to pay for all the necessary equipment.”

Clive Merrifield, Sales Manager, Greenways Motors, Taunton, said: “The support of a Daihatsu Terios will guarantee the service they require through the rough terrain, including flooding, in the area.”

Voted 4x4 Magazine’s ‘Budget Class Winner – 2008’ for the second time, the Daihatsu Terios is now available with a 5-year-warranty.
