BMW 5-Series is Business Car of the Year

25th January 2011 Print

The new BMW 5-series has been chosen by BusinessCar readers as the Business Car of the Year 2011, with BMW completing a hat-trick of headline awards with the Manufacturer of the Year and Green Model of the Year, for the 320d EfficientDynamics model.

The BusinessCar Awards are the only awards in the market that are solely decided by the readership, both online and in print. This makes them the most influential in the business car arena.

BMW’s success also stretched to the 3-series, 5-series, X5 and Mini all being named best in their respective segments, while big rival Audi won three awards for the A3, Q5 and R8. Ford, Fiat, Jaguar and Volkswagen were also among the car award winners.

Lex Autolease collected the Service Supplier of the Year prize as one of its two awards, while Kwik-Fit Fleet celebrated an incredible 18 years in a row at the top of the Fast-Fit category.

“BMW’s 5-series proves that corporate customers really can have it all, thanks to its combination of excellent emissions and economy, continually good residual values and a badge that all executives are as keen as ever to have hanging from their key ring,” said BusinessCar Editor Paul Barker. “The new 5-series earned a very rare 10-out-of-10 BusinessCar road test verdict when it was launched last year, and it seems the readers of our magazine and website agree.”

“The BusinessCar Awards rewards those companies in the corporate arena that are best helping their customers through what’s been a tumultuous time for the industry, and are a ringing endorsement from those that rely on the products and services to help run their business more efficiently,” said Barker. “Congratulations to all our winners on the huge thumbs-up from the industry that is attached to a BusinessCar Award.”
