As the Ducati 848 Challenge becomes an integral part of the MCE British Superbike series for 2011, the Italian marque has linked up with Pirelli to give all competitors equal, high-performance Pirelli Diablo Supercorsa tyres.

As the 848 Challenge becomes an official partner of this prestigious series, Ducati naturally looked to its long time partner Pirelli, who has recently agreed terms with the British Superbike and Supersport classes for sole tyre supply until 2015. The 848 Challenge will not only visit five British Superbike rounds it will also go on tour to Monza and Assen.

All competitors on the new Ducati 848 Evo will be armed with Pirelli Diablo Supercorsa tyres as per the Supersport class, tyres that have broken numerous records in this year’s British and World Supersport Championships. Pirelli have a long racing and commercial history with Ducati and have an exclusive 100% original equipment fitment with the Italian bike manufacturer.

Ducati UK Managing Director Tim Maccabee commented; ”We have extremely strong ties between the two brands so it seems only natural as we look to a full partnership with British Superbikes we utilise the existing great relationship with the series, Ducati and Pirelli. We are also excited to be able to offer our riders tyres of such a high level as those used in both British and World Superbikes”

Director of Pirelli Moto UK Giovanni Tolasi added “It is good to see another racing class using Pirelli within the British Superbike series and the fact that is with an Italian marque is fantastic! Our logistics team has great experience in British Supersport with the Pirelli Diablo Supercorsas in both durability and outright performance, so we should see fast and competitive racing with lap times falling.”

The winner of the Championship will collect a new 848 Evo in the stunning Dark Stealth livery. Registration for the series is now open and interested riders should contact the Series administrator Jason Boswell on 848challenge[at]ducatiuk.com
