4th February 2011 Print

DVLA Personalised Registrations decision to release its O-Series has proved yet again to be a major success for the Agency – with its latest three examples banking more than £94,000 during the second day of its first auction of 2011.

The registration 12 O surpassed all expectations when a mystery businessman paid a total of £63,290 here at the Imperial War Museum in Manchester. Moments later 34 OO and 5 OOO sold for a total of £7,967 and £22,913 respectively.

The three registrations now takes the total banked for the O-Series to a staggering £1.3 million.

Damian Lawson, DVLA Personalised Registratons’ head of marketing said: “Once again we have been left astounded at the level of interest the O-Series continues to create, it really has been a tremendous success for the agency and we couldn’t have wished for more.”

Looking ahead, he added: “The success story will continue at our next auction planned for March in Harrogate, North Yorkshire, with 13 O, 800 OO, OOO 1E and 6 OOO.”
