Part exchange makes a dream come true in Shobdon
For many losing out on their dream home can be heartbreaking, but for one couple it turned out to be a blessing in disguise – with the help of Taylor Wimpey Midland’s Part Exchange* scheme.
After deciding to move from Powys in Wales to the beautiful Herefordshire countryside, Val and Andy Squibb had set their heart on a four bedroom home at the house builder’s Shobdon Oaks development in Shobdon but were pipped at the post by another buyer.
Andy said: “As Val is retired, I wanted to return to the job market and as we had no other family members to consider, we could look for a new home anywhere in the country. We knew we wanted a new build property in an area with good road connections and amenities; so when Val saw Shobdon Oaks on the Taylor Wimpey website we wasted no time in driving down to look at it.
“We immediately knew Shobdon Oaks was the place for us. It has a charming rural feeling, set amongst beautiful countryside, but isn’t too remote for local shops and pubs.”
They fell in love with a four bedroom President on the development but no sooner had they chosen it, it was snapped up by a cash buyer. “We were really upset when we lost out on the President, but Taylor Wimpey’s sales negotiator Jaki Poole was great and talked us through all of our options”, added Andy.
“Given the difficulty of selling our house in Wales, Jaki suggested part exchange as a possible solution, introducing us to the company’s part exchange manager Julie Zivkovic, who managed the process. Taylor Wimpey became our cash buyer and by using the scheme we were actually able to buy a larger house. The layout of our new home is perfect: we have plenty of space for friends and family to visit, and still have room for a home-gym!”
Val and Andy are now settled in their five bedroom Frampton style property and are enjoying the peace and tranquillity of the Herefordshire countryside.
Val said: “We would definitely recommend the part exchange scheme. Taylor Wimpey has been fantastic throughout the whole process, taking away the stress by helping us move from house to home and enabling us to buy a bigger property than we were ever expecting to!”
Anne Wallace, regional sales and marketing director for Taylor Wimpey Midlands, said: “We think it’s wonderful that even though Val and Andy missed out on the house they had originally wanted, we were able to help them move into a larger house that they love even more. Part exchange is fantastic for people who really want to move but are struggling to sell their current home. If you think the scheme sounds right for you, why not pay us a visit and talk to our experienced sales team?”
Under the scheme Taylor Wimpey will buy your current home at an agreed price so you don’t have to worry about paying any estate agent’s fees. This gives you extra money to spend on the more important things, like furnishing your new home. In addition, you have the confidence of a guaranteed cash buyer who knows what they’re doing; taking the stress out of the home buying process and making broken chains a thing of the past!
