TalkTalk launches new home phone and broadband offers

18th February 2011 Print

TalkTalk has launched a new half-price offer on its phone and broadband packages. The 50% discount means Essentials customers will pay just £3.49 a month for their phone and broadband, while Plus customers will pay £7.49 a month. For both packages this offer is available on a 12 month contract.

Matthew Wheeler, communications expert at uSwitch.com, comments: "The new deals are well worth considering. £3.49 a month for a broadband and calls package is exceptional value for money. You do have to pay line rental on top of this, which at £12.30 a month, is far from the cheapest on the market. However, when added together, customers will find themselves with an annual bill that is not to be sniffed at. Plus, connection is free - it usually costs £30.

"Customers should think carefully about their requirements when choosing which deal to go for. The ‘Essentials' offer limits broadband usage to 40GB, which is more than enough for people just using the web to surf the internet, email and occasionally download content. Those already hooked on iPlayer should think about upgrading to the ‘Plus' deal which offers unlimited usage - but bear in mind that this is still subject to a fair use policy."
