A break fit for a (Michelin) star!

17th March 2011 Print

One of the UK’s most exciting Michelin-starred chefs, Adam Simmonds*, has teamed up with dynamic health and wellbeing company, Health Matters 360, to offer a totally new type of foodie health break to Corfu, Greece.

During this seven-night “Health Hub”, guests have a very special opportunity to enjoy personal cooking workshops with Adam where they’ll learn how to create delicious and nutritionally powerful cuisine from the expert – not to mention discovering how to achieve a healthier, happier lifestyle while they’re there too!

Adam will join the Health Matters 360 team at their first ever overseas Health Hub in Corfu, which is scheduled to run from 9th-16th May 2011. He will also participate in an additional Health Hub that is due to run from 26th September – 3rd October 2011. This stunning new destination has been launched to complement the company’s existing health and wellbeing breaks in the UK. The Rou Estate, with its blend of luxurious accommodation and breathtaking location, has been described by Harper’s Bazaar as the “No.1 Best Mountain Escape”, and ranked No.36 in The Times’ “Top Places to Stay in the World”.

Designed to destroy the myth that healthy food means tasteless rabbit food, Adam will work alongside acclaimed nutritional expert, Jenny Tschiesche, to teach guests how to create nutritional meals and recipes that are of Michelin-starred quality. Guests don’t have to be masters in the kitchen either – the complete novice through to the experienced cook can develop their culinary skills and discover the secrets to creating the finest and healthiest gastronomy. What’s more, all meal plans can be tailored to specific food issues, such as food intolerances, diabetes, high blood pressure and weight loss – ensuring a truly personalised approach.

In addition to the cookery workshops, the Health Hubs offer a wonderful opportunity for guests to take part in a series of dynamic fitness sessions and positive mind matters coaching with leading experts in their fields. Not to be confused with detox breaks or boot camps, this integrated 360° approach to health and wellbeing is ideally suited for those who want to improve their lifestyles in the long-term – not just during their stay but in their ongoing lives once they return home.

As well as discovering new ways to achieve optimum health, guests can make the most of one of Europe’s most gorgeous and inspiring settings and make new friends along the way. These exclusive Health Hubs accommodate a maximum of just 20 people at The Rou Estate, a deluxe sanctuary boasting spectacular 270 degree views overlooking the Ionian Sea from its privileged mountain setting on the island of Corfu.

Health Hub prices start from £1,995 per person, based on seven nights’ accommodation at The Rou Estate on a full-board basis, and an extensive programme of personal training sessions; expert nutritional consultations and workshops; relaxation and mind matters coaching sessions; personal cookery classes with Michelin-starred chef Adam Simmonds; and full use of the gym and pool facilities for the duration of guests’ stay, as well as plenty of free time to relax and enjoy this breathtaking location. Flights and travel insurance not included.
