The Avenues, Bellway Homes’ popular family homes development, located close to the site of the former Glasgow Zoo in Uddingston, has two new welcome additions in the shape of the recently opened ‘Scott ‘and ‘Arran’ four-bedroom detached showhomes.

For prospective buyers looking for a family home with room for growth, where they envisage themselves settling for the long-term, either of these magnificent homes is bound to impress and both are superb examples of the quality and style that pervades every home at The Avenues.

Situated within an established suburb, The Avenues offers an attractive mix of three, four and five-bedroom detached properties, with the Scott and Arran ably demonstrating why buyers have been eager to take advantage of a new home at this location.

Throughout both showhomes, Bellway’s interior designer has used a vibrant colour pallet and decorated feature walls with wallpaper from a collection by leading UK designer Vivienne Westwood.

The L-shape design of the Scott gives this property a clean, contemporary look, both inside and out. From the moment potential purchasers walk through the canopy covered entrance, they will instantly notice the roomy proportions of this home, from the spacious lounge through to the hall with its cloakroom/wc, to the bright fully fitted kitchen/dining area with separate utility room and upstairs, to the four bedrooms with en-suite master and a family bathroom.

The lounge in the Scott has been beautifully styled in contemporary themes with chocolate brown hues complemented by oatmeal soft furnishings and sparkling white furniture, offset with glimpses of red throughout the accessories.

Flashes of red continue through into the stunning kitchen/dining area where chocolate coloured Amtico flooring immediately impresses and harmonises with the crisp white kitchen units and chrome steel appliances.

A very stylish glass dining table with six white chairs sits comfortably in the dining area, inviting visions of happy candlelight suppers with friends or family get-togethers yet to come.

Upstairs, the funky red, grey and chocolate theme continues through three of the four bedrooms. The master bedroom is decorated in soothing light pastel shades with light browns and creams dominating the look, creating a haven of relaxation.

The four-bedroom detached ‘Arran’ showhome meanwhile, is a more traditional design infused with modern touches, such as the Juliet balcony in the second bedroom and the ‘Jack and Jill’ shared bathroom facilities between this room and the fourth bedroom.

Featuring downstairs, a spacious lounge, separate dining room, fully fitted breakfasting kitchen with integrated appliances, cloakroom/wc, a utility room and integral garage and upstairs, four bedrooms with en-suite off the master bedroom and an additional en-suite shared between bedroom two and four, plus a separate family bathroom, this is a family home that really does cater for all age groups.

Imaginatively styled, the tiled lounge floor is particularly striking due to its bold use of bright summery colours throughout the wall coverings, flooring, furniture and accessories. Dark browns, whites, creamy browns and shades of taupe all blend together beautifully with dashes of lemon in the accessories adding an irresistible yellow tanginess to the proceedings.

The lemon spiciness flows through to the tiled dining area, where an impressive framed mirror hung on bold striped wall paper overlooks the white and black dining table and chairs, with views out to the garden through the patio doors.

The kitchen is sleek and stylish thanks to the subtle colour combinations in the floor tiling, crisp white work tops and dark wood effect units offset by flashes of chrome steel in the hob, oven, hood, splashback and ironmongery.

Upstairs, relaxation is the name of the game within the en-suite master bedroom especially. The soft, silvery coloured bedcovers contrast with the vibrant red bed-frame, red and silver throw and cushions. The feature wall displays a bold slate coloured horizontal strip of wallpaper, complete with a playful bauble motif.

In the second bedroom the smoky, storm cloud gray of the scatter cushions, main feature wall and throw contrast perfectly with the white headboard, bedcovers, side tables and modern take on a window seat, fashioning a room of perfect symmetry.

With the remaining two bedrooms, one has been fashioned as a snug study, still featuring the dominant tones of subtle gray with colour introduced via the comfortable red desk chair and soft furnishings. The other bedroom would make an ideal guest suite; the whole room is a study on the variance of white, from the embossed wallpaper to the elegant beside tables and contemporary dressing table.

Fraser Conn, Sales and Marketing Director at Bellway Homes, comments: “The Avenues is ideal for those wanting to live within a peaceful suburb that provides great access to the outer lying areas, including Glasgow, Edinburgh, Hamilton and East Kilbride – so properties here, particularly new homes, remain in much demand.

“Taking that on board, we have delivered a range of properties varying in design layout, size and pricing to allow considerable numbers of buyers the opportunity to secure a new home within such a prime location.

“The Scott and Arran showhomes are fine examples of how Bellway Homes has sought to combine the needs of a modern family home with contemporary design.”

With Uddingston main street only a short drive away, with its mix of restaurants, bars and hotels as well as a railway station, buyers have access to life’s everyday necessities and luxuries alike. Neighbouring Uddingston is Bothwell, a charming conservation village with a 13th century castle, a golf course and a selection of niche shops and boutiques.

Less than a 10-minute drive from the development is Strathclyde Country Park, with its raft of outdoor leisure facilities available all-year round. Further adding to the lifestyle appeal of The Avenues is Glasgow Fort, only a short car journey away – it is home to more than 70 leading high street brands.

In addition to the first-class location and excellent choice of properties available at The Avenues, Bellway Homes currently has a number of incentives to assist house hunters through the buying process including ‘Part Exchange’, ‘Express Mover’, ‘5% Deposit Paid’ and ‘Double Deposit’. The award winning housebuilder is also offering an ‘Armed Forces Discount’, a concession available to members of the armed forces to help them get on to the property ladder.

Prices at The Avenues are currently released from £207,995 for a four-bedroom detached property.
