Autoglym cleans up BTCC front runners

As the 2011 British Touring Car Championship season opener rapidly approaches, three leading teams will take to the grid having prepared their racers with Autoglym products.

As if sending out Jason Plato – last year’s BTCC champion – in a gleaming Silverline Chevrolet Cruze wasn’t enough, the hotly-tipped Ford Focus racers entered by Team AON and Airwaves Racing will also cross the start line having been prepared to podium-topping standards using Autoglym’s car care range.  So, with almost a quarter of the cars in the championship sporting an Autoglym finish, the British manufacturer of high performance car care products is in with a great chance of supporting a championship winner come the end of the season.

Paul Caller, CEO of Autoglym, said: “We’ve long invested in various levels of British motorsport.  It’s primarily a promotional exercise, but it also plays a role in the product development process.  These BTCC cars travel at up to 140mph and that helps subject new products under development to some extreme tests.

“We also get great feedback on how easy the products are to use because the teams simply want to achieve a great finish in as little time as possible.  As a keen motorsport fan myself, I’m also looking forward to the coming season with excitement and hope it lives up to the thrills and spills we’ve seen in previous years.”
