Goldstar Transport takes 60 new Renault Premiums

Leading haulage company, Goldstar Transport Ltd., has taken delivery of a total of 60 new Euro 5, 6x2 Renault Premium 460.25s, all with Privilege cabs. In an important conquest deal for Renault Trucks and Renault Trucks Felixstowe, they are the first Renaults to join the company’s existing 200-strong mixed fleet of DAF, Volvo, MAN and Mercedes in over seven years.

The new Renault Premiums will be used on a four year contract for the UK arm of the global, deep sea shipping company, Mediterranean Shipping Company, undertaking container transport on a nationwide basis.

Matthew Ashworth, Managing Director, Goldstar Transport Ltd. says: “Renault Trucks and Renault Trucks Felixstowe put together an excellent package on the new Premiums, with servicing at eight weekly intervals. All 60 of the vehicles will be maintained at Felixstowe on a 48 month contract. The Premium is a quality truck at a very competitive price. The Privilege cab is well kitted out and after impressive fuel returns on the demonstrator vehicle that we trialled, we are expecting to see fuel savings with the Optidriver+ gearbox.”

Formed in 1998, Goldstar Transport specialises in large volume, multi-customer container transport. The company has an annual turnover in excess of £50million and regularly handles over 700 movements per day for a varied customer base from major shipping lines to smaller niche market operators specialising in refrigerated soft fruits, footwear and class one fireworks. It has a number of UK depots located within easy access of the UK’s major container terminals in Felixstowe, Tilbury, Isle of Grain (Thamesport), Liverpool and Southampton.
