Calling all Newquay artists – Taylor Wimpey needs you

4th May 2011 Print

If you’re a budding artist looking for a project to get your teeth into then Taylor Wimpey Exeter may have just that at its Trevenson Meadows development in Newquay.

The leading house builder has a blank hoarding at the development that’s in need of a serious facelift and is looking for an enthusiastic artist to transform it from its current state into a vision of beauty.

The blue hoarding, which runs alongside the development, is approximately 40ft long by 8ft high, so someone keen to take on this project will have plenty of space to work with!

Janine Davey, regional sales and marketing director for Taylor Wimpey Exeter, said: “As we’re going to be building here for a while yet we decided that the hoarding was in need of a serious transformation which is why we decided to appeal to local artists to help out.

“It could be someone working on their own, or a group on a collaborative piece – we just need the art to reflect the local area and be in keeping with the surroundings. If anyone knows of a talented artist or someone with a particular creative flair that would like to get involved please get in touch!”

When built Trevenson Meadows will offer a collection of two bedroom apartments and two, three and four bedroom homes with prices starting from just £129,995. Local residents can also benefit from additional discounts on selected plots making buying a new home even more affordable. The properties at the development will benefit from high efficiency boilers, high performance glazing systems, insulation and low flush toilet cisterns. 10% of the homes will be provided with solar panelling to ensure the development is as sustainable as possible.

Situated in an excellent location in the popular coastal town of Newquay there are numerous amenities on the doorstep including supermarkets, bars and restaurants as well attractions such as Newquay Zoo and the Blue Reef Aquarium. For walkers and cyclists, the tranquillity of Bodmin Moor is nearby to enjoy or, for the more adventurous, there is the opportunity to try water sports in the ‘surfing capital of Britain.’

For commuters, Newquay has good road, rail and air links with access to the A30, A38 and M5 as well as Newquay Railway Station and Newquay and Cornwall Airport.
