4th May 2011 Print

Last week BT and other telecoms providers increased prices for line rental, UK landline calls and call connection. So, for customers that aren’t locked into a contract now is a great time to reassess their home telephone package and save some money.

Already offering a range of free UK and international calls, Post Office HomePhone has committed to fixing its existing prices for line rental, UK landline calls and call connection to the end of 2011. Furthermore new customers signing up to Post Office HomePhone between now and 19 June 2011 will benefit from one month’s free line rental.

Jeremy Woodrow, Head of Post Office Telecoms, said: "In these difficult economic times, we understand that every penny counts. That is why we are making a commitment to not follow others by increasing prices. We pledge to fix our prices for line rental, UK landline calls and call connection to the end of 2011. And if they sign up before 19 June, customers can save even more by receiving one month’s free line rental."

The HomePhone package costs just £12.25 and includes:

Line rental
Inclusive calls to UK landlines and 0845/0870 numbers every night from 6pm and all weekend
Inclusive calls to UK mobiles every weekend, starting from 6pm on Friday evening

Inclusive calls to 40 international destinations over the weekend, starting from 6pm on Friday evening

There is no connection or set up fee, and it’s very simple to switch to the Post Office. In most cases customers will keep their existing landline number.

Customers looking for broadband can take advantage of joint landline and broadband packages which start at just £21.40 - and if they sign up between now and 19 June 2011, they will also receive one month’s free line rental.
