The prestigious 2011 Van Fleet World Honours Environmental Award is the latest success for Citroen’s multi-award winning LCV range.  This most recent accolade recognises the Citroen LCV range as one of the greenest and cleanest available in the UK - with low CO2 emissions from just 109g/km and exceptional fuel efficiency of up to 68.9mpg (Combined).

John Kendall, Editor of Van Fleet World and member of the 2011 Van Fleet World Honours judging panel, explains: “The presentation of the 2011 Van Fleet World Honours Environmental Award to Citroen reflects the company’s long-term commitment to improving fuel efficiency and reducing the carbon footprint of its entire LCV range.  Citroen was one of the first van manufacturers to offer an active navigation system - Trafficmaster Smartnav - as standard equipment and has progressively introduced more efficient engines to the extent that it offers some of the lowest emitting models available today.  And more emissions reducing technology is on the way.”

Scott Michael, Citroen’s Commercial Vehicle Operations Manager, commented: “As part of the ‘Citroen Vans - Business Class’ programme, Citroen continues to work to improve the fuel efficiency and CO2 emissions of its LCV range.  The Van Fleet World Honours Environmental Award is welcome recognition of this and further highlights that all Citroen LCVs deliver excellent fuel efficiency and low emissions as standard.”

Equipped with a Diesel Particulate Filtration System (DPFS) and Stop & Start technology - with the added availability of an economical EGS gearbox - the recently launched Euro 5 Nemo HDi range is clear evidence of Citroen’s commitment to reducing the environmental impact of its LCVs.

Citroen continues to offerthe advanced Trafficmaster Smartnav satellite navigation and Trackstar stolen vehicle telematics package either as standard, or as a subsidised, low-cost option across its entire LCV range.  This unique proposition in the UK LCV market offers proven productivity and cost gains, as well as further emission reductions.  Additionally, all Citroen LCVs equipped with Trafficmaster Smartnav can be linked to Fleet Director - a real time, on-line fleet management programme, which can bring even further cost reductions and efficiency benefits.

All Citroen HDi diesel-powered LCVs can run on up to 30% bio-diesel without any modification or effect on warranty.  Citroen is the only LCV manufacturer to offer the environmental benefits of Dual Fuel (petrol/LPG) van conversions, through its Ready to Run programme.
