BCA Nottingham hosted its first ever BMW Group Convertible sale uniquely combined with a repatriation event on 9th April. Entries were attracted from BMW Group as well as eight additional Vendors, who were invited from BMW group Corporate customer base. On the day 310 vehicles were sold, with the 203 Convertibles from BMW Group achieving a 100% conversion rate and the sale generating a total turnover of £4.8million.

Setting a summery theme, in keeping with the Convertible car entry, the sale featured a Caribbean steel band, with complimentary breakfast or lunch provided by BMW for buyers.  And mid-way through the sale, an ice-cream van drove through the auction hall, providing much needed refreshment on the hot and sunny day.

In total, 435 buyers registered for the sale, all seeking to take advantage of this unique opportunity. There were 306 Live Online buyers who created over £100,000 worth of additional bids, and overall 102 buyers actually purchased on the day.

Matt Bristow of BMW Group says, “We worked closely with BCA Nottingham to create a buzz around this event and to encourage buyers to come and it turned out to be a fantastic sale day. We had 100% conversion and over 109% CAP Clean overall, which is an excellent result. We are particularly pleased by the success of the Repatriation entry for our Corporate customer base which further reinforces the strength of our brand within the UK marketplace”.

Simon Young of BCA adds, “This was our first BMW Repatriation sale at BCA Nottingham. By bringing together eight of our business partners supported by the manufacturer we have created a knock-out event. The whole team put in a tremendous effort to make this a special occasion that saw some great sales and provided buyers with an enjoyable auction experience so much so that a second event has been scheduled for the 1st June at BCA Nottingham.”
