London’s most fashionable flock to Mount Street

Mayfair’s prestigious Mount Street last night stepped into spring with a fabulous evening of late-night shopping and entertainment to commemorate 325 years of the May Fayre.

Guests turned out en masse alongside some of the street’s most iconic faces including Stephen Webster and Nicky Clarke.

Mount Street, home to some of the world’s most famous luxury brands including Christian Louboutin, Carolina Herrera, Lanvin and Balenciaga, pulled out all the stops for a fun-filled evening spanning the full length of the street. Revellers enjoyed an array of fantastic treats including a delicious barbeque from London’s oldest butchers Allen’s to cigar sampling at Sautter, an ice cream tricycle outside Louboutin and champagne and canapés from the recently opened Nicholas Kirkwood.

Hairstylist to the stars Nicky Clarke was on hand to ensure that everyone was looking fabulous on the night. As well as holding a creative mock photo shoot outside his flagship London salon featuring clothes from Scottish heritage brand Mackintosh, Nicky made the most of the evening’s entertainment with another of Mount Street’s most iconic individuals: Stephen Webster. They were joined for vodka cocktails by stunning creator and model for Ultimo lingerie Michelle Mone.  The evening also acted as a reunion for entrepreneurial Michelle – winner of Comic Relief Does The Apprentice - and ex-Apprentice star Raef Bjayou who sipped Champagne outside Scott’s.

Other highlights of the evening included an energetic dance display by The Morris Men, fashion shows from some of the street’s top fashion houses including Jenny Packham and Nicholas Kirkwood, and gun and rifle makers Purdy and Williams & Son. Guests were caught unawares as The Victorian Strongmen hoisted unexpected revellers up in the air.

As if that wasn’t enough, guests were also invited to partake in a competition with an array of amazing prizes donated by some of the most illustrious names on the street, including The Connaught Hotel, Porsche, Aesop, Annick Goutal, Harry’s of London and Scott’s.

The Mount Street May Fayre took place from 17:30–20:30 on Thursday 19th May 2011.
