Grab a gourmet break with Channel Islands Direct

Specialist tour operator Channel Islands Direct is offering exclusive packages to encourage foodie lovers to visit during Jersey and Guernsey’s famous six-week food promotion, the Tennerfest.

Starting from 1 October 2011, for the fourteenth consecutive year, visitors to the Channel Islands can look forward to six weeks of gourmet delights at reduced prices.

Tennerfest encourages local restaurants to create special, two- and three-course set menus, starting from £10 with £12.50, £15.00 and £17.50 options.

The festival provides the perfect reason to visit Jersey this autumn.  Restaurants often feature island delicacies such as lobster, oysters and fresh langoustines.

Visitors can spend three nights in Jersey from just £189 per person with Channel Islands Direct, at the four-star Radisson Blu - a modern hotel situated on the waterfront overlooking the marina, St Aubin's Bay and Elizabeth Castle. The hotel is within walking distance of the restaurants of St Helier, the ideal location to take full advantage of the Tennerfest promotions.

This price includes sea travel by ferry from Weymouth as a foot passenger. Travel by air from London Gatwick, from just £265 per person. This package includes bed and breakfast accommodation, a guaranteed upgrade to a sea view room and car. Travel is valid until 21 October 2011.

Alternatively, spend three nights at the five-star Longueville Manor Hotel, Jersey from just £249 per person with Channel Islands Direct. The restaurant at Longueville Manor boasts three AA rosettes, an extensive wine list and award winning menus by Executive Chef Andrew Baird. The Old Government House Hotel and Spa provides the perfect setting for a gourmet break in Guernsey. Governor's fine dining restaurant features a seasonal menu including classic French dishes, showcasing the island’s fresh seafood.

Also not to be missed, is the Chef's "Surprise" Menu Dégustation, a seven-course daily changing gourmet menu in Governor's, which has included dishes such as, “Coquille St-Jacques”  - Roast Scallops, Saffron and Basil Risotto and “Chocolat Et Fruit De La Passion” - White Chocolate Mousse Mille Feuille, with Passion Fruit Sorbet. Spend four nights at four-star The Old Government House from just £299 per person with Channel Islands Direct. Situated in the heart of St Peter Port, The Old Government House is Guernsey's oldest established hotel and spa, with stunning views over Herm and Sark.
