easyJet has launched  two new routes from its biggest base London Gatwick to Verona and Aberdeen.

The inaugural flight to Verona departed last Friday afternoon, and will fly daily from Gatwick to Verona, with fares starting from £33.99 (one way including taxes).

Verona is most famously known as the setting for Shakespeare’s Romeo & Juliet. The former Roman city plays host to some of the finest ancient architecture in Europe, from a spectacular amphitheatre to 12th century churches. Its medieval lanes are flanked with shops, cafes and restaurants.

easyJet is also operating a new daily flight from Gatwick to Aberdeen with fares starting from £27.99 (one way including taxes). The new route is in response to customer demand for an affordable regular service between the two cities as both a business and leisure destination

Paul Simmons, easyJet’s UK Director, said: “Our two new routes from Gatwick offer the best of both worlds for both leisure and business passengers.

“Verona is a popular holiday destination for culture vultures and all year round sun-seekers and we’ve responded to customer feedback for a daily route to Aberdeen, which will allow us to carry an extra 100,000 passengers a year between the two cities.

“easyJet is the largest airline to fly from London Gatwick and these new routes mean we now offer passengers the option of 92destinations. We will also shortly be launching an additional new route to Catania in Sicily, providing even more choice for travellers.”
