Ryanair urges passengers to book direct

8th June 2011 Print

Ryanair today (8th June) urged passengers to book flights directly with Ryanair and not through travel agents or travel websites after the closure of an online travel site, TravelJunky.com, resulted in some worried passengers contacting Ryanair to get their flight itineraries.

Ryanair advised all passengers to avoid travel agent and website handling fees and protect their travel plans by booking directly with Ryanair, Europe’s most financially secure airline.  Ryanair allows some ‘flight comparison’ websites to display flight and fare information but does not allow any agents or websites to sell Ryanair flights.

Ryanair’s Stephen McNamara said:

“Ryanair has received calls from TravelJunky.com passengers who were worried about their bookings after this online travel site went bust.  This underlines the risk of booking a flight with financially unsecure travel agents and websites.

“Ryanair strongly advises passengers to book flights directly on ryanair.com to avoid agent handling fees and ensure that they have secured Europe’s guaranteed lowest fares.”
