Blue Whales & Dolphins in Sri Lanka

1st July 2011 Print

Oceans Worldwide – the holiday company affiliated to WDCS (the Whale & Dolphin Conservation Society) – has knocked a hefty £250 pp off its 12-night Blue Whales & Dolphins trip to Sri Lanka departing 3 December 2011.*

There is a huge wealth of cetacean life in the warm waters around Sri Lanka - resident species include the common Blue Whale, Killer Whales, Sperm Whales, Melon-headed Whales, Beaked Whales, Cuvier's Dwarf Whale and – occasionally - the Indian Blue Whale.

The small group trip (max. 12 people) is based in two different coastal areas in the north west and the south of the island, from where a large number of Spinner Dolphins can also be seen.

In addition to watching marine life, this two week trip to ‘Buddha’s Island’, also includes some time to relax and explore. Two days are set aside for game viewing in Uda Walawe and Yala National Parks, where it is possible to spot leopard, elephant, deer, jackal, buffalo, crocodile and waterfowl.

The trip departs on 3 December and the reduced price of ground arrangements is from £1199 per person*. This includes all land transportation, 12 nights’ B&B accommodation, marine and terrestrial wildlife viewing as detailed in the itinerary, and guides.

The price including international flights is from £1749 pp*. A donation of £100 from all bookings goes directly to WDCS.
