Jet2.com introduces ‘proper crisps’ for passengers

15th July 2011 Print

Passengers flying with Jet2.com, Yorkshire’s leading leisure airline with friendly low fares, can now enjoy Britain’s most loved crinkle cut crisps, thanks to a new partnership with Seabrook Crisps.

Seabrook Crisps, also based in Yorkshire and renowned for its quality crisps and irresistible flavours, is not only satisfying Jet2.com passengers with its more traditional Cheese & Onion and Sea Salted flavours as they take to the skies, but from this month, passengers can also indulge in its new, mouth-watering Hot & Spicy Desi Curry flavor.

Desi Curry*, which is based on the authentic Asian cooking at the award-winning Saffron Desi group of restaurants in Yorkshire, has recently been added to Seabrook’s unique Hot & Spicy range, which was created to satisfy the more adventurous palette – perfect for those clocking up the air miles as they explore the world.

Paul Humphreys, Retail Director of Jet2.com, says: “The ongoing success and growth of Jet2.com is largely due to us listening and responding to our customers’ needs – whether that’s in relation to new routes, a more generous baggage allowance, friendly flight times, or the in-flight experience. A lot of people get peckish on a flight and our passengers told us they wanted a tasty, locally produced crisp product and so we have responded with the perfect solution.

“We at Jet2.com pride ourselves on our local heritage, and are thrilled to be working so closely with another great iconic brand from the region. We are looking forward to developing this relationship into a strong, long term partnership”.

Jon Wood, Trading Controller at Seabrook Crisps echoes this: “We also pride ourselves on our ability to respond to consumer needs and trends, developing new products and ranges inline with emerging tastes, like Hot & Spicy, so we feel a real synergy with the ethos of the Jet2.com brand. We are extremely proud to be joining forces to fly the Yorkshire flag not just nationally, but internationally”.

Seabrook Crisps’ Cheese & Onion and Sea Salted 50g ‘Big Bags’ are available on all Jet2.com flights at £1.30 each.

Jet2.com is responsible for four million flights in-and-out of the UK every year and flies to 49 city, sun and ski destinations from eight UK airports – Leeds Bradford, Manchester, Newcastle, East Midlands, Edinburgh, Belfast, Blackpool and Glasgow. For more information visit: Jet2.com

* Desi, which means ‘traditional’, is the term applied to Asian food when the taste is exactly as you’d find with an authentic home cooked curry.
