Touchwood continues charity campaign

19th July 2011 Print

Touchwood is urging local residents and guests to get behind their fundraising drive and support local charity, Solihull Life Opportunities (SoLO).

To mark the shopping centre’s 10th birthday SoLO was selected as its charity of choice and will benefit from Touchwood’s 10 week fundraising campaign. A large box in the shape of a ‘T’ was recently unveiled as the dedicated, in-centre collection point and Touchwood is encouraging guests to donate what they can to their support for this deserving cause.

The collection point, which is positioned next to the information desk in the Map Room, has already attracted a lot of donations but Touchwood is keen to build on this success and raise as much money as possible for SoLO. Guests are therefore encouraged stop by the Map Room, when they are shopping or dining at Touchwood, to make a contribution.

Lucy Burnett, marketing manager at Touchwood, explains: “We are delighted to be able to share the success of our 10th birthday with such a fantastic cause. We have already had a great response to the fundraising drive and we would like to thank those guests who have already donated to the appeal. We hope to present SoLO with a big cheque at the end of our campaign so would encourage guests to keep giving what they can and remind them that Touchwood will match whatever they donate.”

Solihull Life Opportunities (SoLO) is a charity that aims to enable children, young people and adults with learning disabilities to enjoy social and leisure activities that the rest of us take for granted. It also provides the parents and carers of those individuals with much needed respite – a break from the full-time job of caring for disabled people.
Touchwood houses some of the best UK and international brands, designer retailers and independent boutique style stores.
