Handmade Macaroons

English Rose Bakery, who specialise in creating luxurious handmade macaroons are seeing a surge in demand for their range, which is sold online, at food markets and at wedding fairs across the UK.

Perfect not only for stylish gifts and special events but also for weddings, an area which the company has recently expanded into.

Set up in 2010 in Manchester, by Emma Brown an ex fashion product developer who previously worked for Hugo Boss in Switzerland, the idea behind English Rose Bakery was inspired by a visit to Laduree in Zurich.Emma realised there was a gap in the UK market for macaroons outside of the established historical brands. Following several months perfecting the art of macaroon making the company was launched.

Emma commented "Although these sweet treats are hugely popular in Paris and London, where historic Parisian tea salon Laduree sells hundreds of chic cakes, macaroons are still a relative mystery to many people in the UK and we are pleased that interest is growing, especially the wedding market into which we have recently expanded. We already have a lot of regular customers at the food markets in Manchester and because they're quite a sought-after thing, you get real fans of macaroons who keep coming back to us. We have a gentleman who used to buy his from Laduree in Harrods but he's glad that he's found us now because he doesn't have to keep going to London to get them."

English Rose sell a variety of macaroon flavours in boxes of 6 or 12 including chocolate ganache, rose, salted caramel, black cherry, and their most popular flavour, hot pink coloured raspberry macaroons. For stylish weddings, macaroon pyramid centre pieces are the perfect alternative to the traditional wedding cake. Beautifully packaged wedding favours and mini gift bags are also available.
