DVLA continue its 11-series success!

25th July 2011 Print

DVLA Personalised Registrations is hoping to continue the ride of success it has experienced when it introduces its 11-series to its auction programme this week.

Its summer three-day sale which gets underway on Wednesday, July 27, is the first to feature some of the plates it held back from general release including SP11 DER, WE11 HOT and DR11 VER.

The registrations are among 1,500 personalised registrations featured in the three day sale being held at the Williams F1 Conference Centre, Wantage, Oxfordshire, from Wednesday, July 27.

Registered bidders will also be given free access to the Williams museum displaying one of the largest collections of Grand Prix cars under one roof and all personally owned by two living F1 legends Frank Williams and Patrick Head. The collection is normally kept behind closed doors with only the privileged few allowed in.

The collection chronicles Williams’ F1 involvement in Formula One starting with the team’s first car, driven by Alan Jones, during the late 1970s. Other notable cars include  Williams’ FW14 – the car which powered Nigel Mansell to his record-breaking F1 Championship crown lying alongside those driven by Alain Prost, Damon Hill, Jacques Villeneuve, David Coulthard and, of course, the late, great, Ayrton Senna.

Damian Lawson, DVLA Personalised Registrations’ Marketing Manager, said: “The 11-series proved to be phenomenally popular when they were released for sale last December. We are now in a position to start auctioning the more desirable ones.”

In total, DVLA’s forthcoming auction will comprise 1,500 registrations chosen to offer  an eclectic mix to suit all tastes, styles and budgets including; 555 A (reserve £3,000), ALF 4P (£400), A1 GTE (£1,000), BMW 325D (£400), BUG 111 (£1,900), CO10 MBO (£1,000), 28 FF (£2,500), GTO 123R (£400), HE55 TON (£1,000), LA60 NDA (£1,000), MAR 14J (£400), 43 O (£10,000), 350 OO (£3,000), 8 OOO (£4,000),   SP11 DER (£3,000), TE55 TER (£900), VR51 NGH (£1,000), WE11 HOT (£3,000), XXX 80X (£400), Y84 KER (£350).
