A classic Christmas at Dukes London

9th November 2011 Print

Mulled wine, mince pies, stunning decorations, delicious food and sparkling champagne; spend a classic, cosy Christmas at Dukes London.

Tucked away in a quite cobbled court yard off St James', this Christmas Dukes London will radiate festive spirit with glittering fairy lights, flickering candles throughout, a traditional Christmas tree and door staff laden with mouth-watering mince pies to welcome guests on arrival. With the appointment of award-winning executive head chef Nigel Mendham earlier this year, Dukes London will also be offering an array of gourmet treats for the festive period.

After a day of Christmas shopping on London's illuminated Oxford Street, or a matinee performance in the West End, guests and locals alike can enjoy a traditional DUKES afternoon tea with a festive twist between 1st and 28th December for just £35. Guests can relax by the roaring fire in the traditional DUKES drawing room and enjoy a glass of pink champagne accompanied by a selection of seasonally inspired, mouth-watering miniatures including classic finger sandwiches; honey and cinnamon Madeleine's; apricot and golden raisin scones; plum panna cottas, and lemon meringue pies, to name a few.

In addition to the fabulous afternoon tea at Dukes London chef Mendham has created some exquisite Christmas and New Years' menus for his newly opened restaurant THIRTY SIX By Nigel Mendham.

This Christmas, forget about the standard turkey roast and sample Thirty Six's rather spectacular eight bird roast; a turkey stuffed with a goose, stuffed with a pheasant, stuffed with a duck, stuffed with a guinea fowl and so on!

For New Year celebrations, Mendham will be serving a sumptuous menu of delights including Goosnargh duck, confit leg, foie gras and spiced bread; hand dived scallops, cauliflower with sultana and apple; dry aged beef, slow cooked fillet, braised rib and winter truffle and to finish, Amedi chocolate, liquid chocolate, ivory sorbet and milk parfait. THIRTY SIX By Nigel Mendham will also serve a delicious New Years Day brunch for those wishing to celebrate the first day of 2012 in style, with dishes including, buttermilk pancakes and berry compote, natural smoked haddock fishcakes with soft eggs and kidneys turbigo with parsley croutons.

If the food and décor at Dukes London is not enough to get guests festive spirit tingling, the hotel will also be hosting carol recitals from 6.00pm- 7.00pm on 13th, 14th and 15th December and will be offering fantastic seasonal offers including:

Christmas Sparkle For Two

A glittering package that includes DUKES breakfast, martini for two in DUKES Bar, a half hour beauty treatment per person and three course dinner for two at THIRTY SIX (excludes beverages) from £350 per couple per night.
