With two popular developments soon to sell-out, first time buyers must hurry if they want to snap up an affordable home of their own in the Selby area.

Between Debut @ Selby and Mulberry Grange in Hambleton, there are just two Redrow homes yet to be sold. It means those who want to purchase a quality built home at an affordable price should act fast to avoid disappointment.

Patsy Aicken, sales director for Redrow Homes (Yorkshire), commented: “The sales success we have seen at Mulberry Grange and Debut is testament to the quality craftsmanship our trades people have invested in building stylish new homes that are reasonably priced.

“They’ve been particularly popular with first time buyers who have used incentives such as our own ‘easi:buy’ deferred payment scheme and more recently the Government-backed FirstBuy initiative to help make homeownership more affordable. Now that we have just one property to sell at each location, time really is of the essence for those who long for a home of their own as we will soon be celebrating a double sell-out.”

At Debut @ Selby a one-bedroom apartment is available on the open market at £52,999. Redrow is offering customers the chance to defer paying up to 25% of the price for up to 10 years with its ‘easi:buy’ scheme, bringing the initial outlay down to just £39,749.

Over at Mulberry Grange there’s a two-bedroom ‘Evesham’ style home from Redrow’s sought-after New Heritage Collection available for £139,999 or £119,999 with FirstBuy.

The balance comes in the shape of an equity loan jointly funded by Redrow and the Homes and Communities Agency. The loan is interest-free for the first five years and can be repaid when the customer has more funds available or they come to resell.

To be eligible for FirstBuy you must be a first time buyer, or want to return to home ownership, and have household earnings of less than £60,000 a year.

“Schemes such as ‘easi:buy’ and FirstBuy mean that those who long for a home of their own don’t have to scrimp and save to escape the rental trap or fly the parental nest. In fact they could find that their mortgage repayments may be less than the rent they would pay for a similar sized property,” Patsy said.

“Plus, our new homes boast stylish new kitchens and sleek modern bathrooms and are well insulated with double glazing and central heating included as standard. It means that instead of settling for an older property that’s in need of lots of work they will be able to relax in the comfort of a brand new home.”
