Reserve now, buy later at Victoria Mills

16th January 2012 Print

Want a new home but not quite ready to move? Then look no further than Victoria Mills in Dunfermline, an imaginative new development by Miller Homes that will provide contemporary living in a historic setting.

Situated on the site of a 19th century linen works – the façade of which will be retained in the development – Victoria Mills will comprise 154 stylish apartments and duplexes.

Work on the development started a few months ago, and the first property will be completed in the autumn of this year, making Victoria Mills an attractive proposition for people who want to reserve a new home now and buy it later.

Anne Marie Britton, sales director for Miller Homes in Scotland East, said: “Victoria Mills is attracting considerable interest, particularly from people who want to use the time between reserving a property and its completion to save some money.

“We know that some people think that they cannot afford to buy a new home, but they can reserve one now at Victoria Mills knowing that they have some time to start paying for it.

“It costs just £250 to reserve properties under £120,000 at Victoria Mills, and £500 to reserve those over £120,000.

“And with a starting price of just £93,000 for two bedroom apartments, it’s no wonder our marketing suite on the site is busy!”

Another key attraction at Victoria Mills is the availability of Miller Homes’ Deposit Match, which makes it even easier for people to move on or up the property ladder.

All you need to do is make a reservation and Miller Homes – the UK’s largest independent housebuilder – will pay up to five per cent of the purchase price, to match your deposit.

Situated in Pilmuir Street, on the edge of the centre of Dunfermline, Victoria Mills will help to give a new lease of life in a part of the town that’s on the up and up. A new high school is nearby, the Carnegie Leisure Centre a few yards down the road is undergoing a major refurbishment, and a new superstore is being built just around the corner.

The development, which occupies the site of the last weaving mill to be built in Dunfermline, will feature a range of contemporary two-bedroom apartments and luxury three-bedroom duplexes.

A typical two-bedroom apartment at Victoria Mills is perfect for those looking to take their first steps on the property ladder. The open-plan kitchen/living area provides a relaxed environment for entertaining. Both the master and second bedrooms have fitted wardrobes, while a contemporary bathroom provides a touch of luxury. Selected apartments also come complete with en-suite facilities to the master bedroom.

The selection of exclusive duplex apartments features imaginatively-designed accommodation over two storeys – ideal properties for those who want to enjoy a convenient, modern lifestyle with no compromise on space and flexibility. The lower floor features a fitted kitchen/dining room, a separate lounge and a handy cloakroom and storage cupboard. Upstairs there is yet more storage space and a contemporary family bathroom. All three bedrooms have fitted wardrobes, and the master bedroom also features en-suite facilities.

Anne Marie Britton said: “We knew there would be great demand for new apartments in the centre of Dunfermline, but the early response has exceeded expectations.

“First-time buyers, professionals, downsizers and even investors have all expressed interest in Victoria Mills, and the idea of being able to reserve now and buy later is proving particularly attractive.”
