Award-winning housebuilder, Bellway Homes, has unveiled its latest inspirational showhome at Templar Rise, in the idyllic village of Kirkliston on the outskirts of Edinburgh.

Taking its name from the historic legacy of the village, which was once held in the 12th century by the Knights of Templar, the Templar development is now catching the attention of 21st century house-hunters.

Templar Rise offers a substantial range of four and five-bedroom detached family homes in no less than six different house styles, including the stately new ‘Churchill’ showhome, off Queensferry Road.

The Churchill is an imposing detached five bedroom villa offering buyers a taste for the finer things in life, including a spacious lounge; family room / study; separate dining room with doors opening to back garden; modern fitted kitchen with breakfasting area; utility room located within the large double garage (accessed from breakfasting area) and downstairs cloakroom.

Bellway’s interior design team has showcased the ‘Churchill’ showhome in fine detail by introducing striking colour schemes, elegant soft furnishings and contemporary artwork.

A large bay window floods the spacious and vibrant lounge with natural light, making it a perfect space for all the family to relax in. The walls are a bold combination of silvery grey and metallic stripes, complemented by a luxurious neutral carpet, geometric curtains and twin sofas finished in a fine white damask fabric. The scatter cushions add splashes of gold to this grown-up room, along with an array of vases filled with fuschia-pink floral displays. A large mirrored coffee table and elegant chandelier make the centrepiece to the room, along with a floor to ceiling ornate mirror, which is framed with scrolls of silver leaves.

The separate chic dining area has been created using a bold colour scheme of ebony, soft cream, chocolate brown and deep pink. The glossy ebony dining table has been set for guests, complete with elegant white dinnerware, fuchsia-pink dining chairs and matching napkins. Designer touches include a modern chandelier, a layered abstract mirror and a mirrored console table. Displays of yellow orchids and bamboo also add a softer, more feminine feel to the room.

The contemporary large kitchen, with open-plan dining area, offers a sleek combination of glossy cream units, stainless steel cooker and neutral ceramic floor. The neutral colour scheme harmonises with splashes of lime green, cerise and ebony in the roman blinds and kitchenware and the welcoming breakfast area is set for four with views out over the garden. Masses of storage space and a separate utility area make the kitchen a practical area to work in as well as being a beautiful space to entertain.

The five bedrooms, including master and second room with en-suite shower rooms, have been treated to an eye-catching mix of clean white walls with splashes of bold and vibrant colour schemes and soft furnishings.

The master bedroom is a sophisticated art-deco-style evening retreat, complete with ebony four-poster bed. The room has been finished in light neutral tones, with metallic spiral wallpaper and soft neutral carpet. The fresh accent colours of lemon and lime on the scatter cushions and elegant throw harmonise with the classic neutral walls. The room benefits from matching black retro furniture and twin retro wall mirrors, as well as a cream damask sofa and coffee table in the dressing area. This bedroom also enjoys French windows framed with sumptuous satin curtains that open on to a Juliet balcony.

The master en-suite shower room is fitted with a classic white suite and limestone tiles, which is finished off with citrus-coloured bathroom accessories and a glass vase of white orchids.

The second double bedroom has been decorated with a striking palette of turquoise, lime, ebony and grey. The contemporary, but classic look is finished off with ebony-effect bedside tables and silver lamps, along with a feature wall of textured grey diamonds behind the bed and an eye-catching retro wall clock.

Bedroom three, also a double room with en-suite, is a palette of bold purple, lime, orange and crimson accent shades against a crisp, white backdrop and bed linen. The mirrored built-in wardrobe, modern chandelier, jet black table lamps and fuchsia-pink swivel chair bring a fun, retro feel to this room, which is flooded with natural light from the bay window.

Bedroom four is a subdued and relaxing space with muted, natural tones of cream, biscuit and white, which is harmonised between the matching fabric headboard, quilted throw and patterned scatter cushions.

The fifth-bedroom benefits from a fold-away day-bed covered in a rich chocolate brown satin. Above the bed is a striking canopy of bold flowered fabric, which is continued through into the roman blinds. The fabric features giant flower heads in shades of sunshine-yellow, cerise, black and white, which is accented in the scatter cushions and photo frames.

Fraser Conn, Sales and Marketing Director at Bellway Homes, said: “Our interior design team has made the Churchill one of our most stylish and relaxing showhomes yet.

Highly accessible for travel to and from the capital, Kirkliston offers excellent transport links. Once the historic route between Edinburgh and Queensferry, today the M9 passes southwest of the village while the A8 and A90 provide direct commuting routes into the city centre. The M8 and M90 are also close by, with Edinburgh International Airport under five miles away.

The village is also home to a good choice of local facilities including local shops, eateries, a 17th century inn, a primary school and a leisure centre. Nearby, both Hopetoun House and Dalmeny House, two of Scotland’s finest estates, offer year-round activities amongst acres of greenery.

Prices at Templar Rise are currently released from £270,995.
