Families can now take a glimpse inside a brand new show home at Redrow’s charming waterside development in Heybridge, near Maldon, in Essex.

The award-winning housebuilder has opened the doors to a new five-bedroom detached ‘Cheltenham’ show home at The Lakes, which shows off the stylish living space that awaits the purchasers of this fabulous family home.

“It’s the perfect home to spread out in as it has three floors of generous living space and five double bedrooms, thanks to the additional ‘rooms in the roof’,” said Mary Timlin, sales director for Redrow Homes. “Our interior designers have furnished and decorated it to suit modern family life so there’s lots to inspire buyers as to how they can make the house work for them.

“The ground floor consists of a fabulous open plan kitchen, breakfast and family room, which has been transformed into the hub of the home. There’s a dining table and a sumptuous sofa, where the children can play or do their homework while mum and dad are nearby in the kitchen.

“In the separate lounge, the designers have incorporated a stylish taupe and chocolate brown colour scheme, with accents of burnt orange. The dark leather and taupe fabric sofa complements classic dark wood furniture and contemporary chrome light completes the modern look. There is also a separate dining room for entertaining or eating together as a family, a convenient downstairs cloakroom and utility room all on the ground floor.

“Upstairs, the relaxed colour scheme continues into the glamorous master bedroom, where the designers have introduced indulgent fabrics and luxurious lighting including a crystal effect chandelier to give the room a feeling of luxury. The bedroom benefits from an en-suite and a walk in wardrobe. The first floor also features a study and two additional bedrooms, which share a ‘Jack and Jill’ style bathroom.

“Two further bedrooms and a family bathroom can be found on the top floor of the house, in what would normally be the eaves. It’s the perfect play space for children, but would also be an ideal hideaway for grown up children still living at home or a great space for guests.”

Surrounded by water on three sides, The Lakes enjoys beautiful views of the River Blackwater and the properties are close to the picturesque Heybridge Basin, which offers walks along the sea wall.

The historic town of Maldon is close by and The Lakes is opposite Maldon’s Promenade Park, with its many acres of open space and children’s play areas. The development is approximately 6.5 miles from Witham Station, from where London Liverpool Street can be reached by direct rail link in around 45 minutes.
