With cycling continuing to grow in popularity and a 15 per cent increase of trips made by bikes in the capital in 2011, The Crowne Plaza London - The City, has recognised the need to accommodate the growing number of guests who desire the access to a bicycle, with the launch of a brand new cyclist package.

With the Olympics just around the corner and many would-be cyclists inspired by Tour de France and BBC Sports Personality of the Year winner, Mark Cavendish, 2012 is set to be an exciting year for cycling. Visitors coming to the capital often find getting around on a bike can be an easier way to navigate around town, ensuring they don't miss out on sights and attractions - something that can be easily done when taking the tube. And with January a particular good time to kick-start the health regime, the hotel's bike package may just be the sort of city break that people are looking for.

The bike package is available, priced from £182 per room (based on double occupancy) and includes:

Cycle Hire*
Bike Map and Helmet
Concierge valet cycle parking
Luxury accommodation in a newly renovated guestroom
Full-English Breakfast

*Guests who wish to bring their own bike will have the cycle hire deducted.

The hotel's concierge and avid cyclist, Jay Lemos, will ensure bikes are perfectly fitted to meet guest's height and specifications. And when the bike is no longer required, Jay and his team will be on-hand to valet park the guest's bike at the hotel.

Commenting, Gaurav Rai, hotel manager, said, "Located in the City means we are seeing more and more cyclists in the area, the Superhighway route runs right past our doorstep and cyclists are a common sight! To accommodate our guests' needs is imperative if we are to maintain the hotel's first-class offering. Whilst this may be seen as a gimmick, it doesn't hide the fact that the bike is a more common sight on London's roads and we need to embrace that."

Please note the hotel cannot be held liable for any accidents or injuries whilst in command of their respective bike. Guests are responsible for their own safety.
