A drop in registrations of only 1 per cent last month signals that sales of motorcycles, mopeds and scooters are holding up well, despite the credit crunch and general economic gloom.

More and more commuters are switching to motorbikes than ever before. Over 3.5 million are now licensed to ride a bike and as a result, Tesco has launched a Motorbike Insurance Finder. This is the first time a supermarket has offered such a service.
