Following BT’s price cuts on 1 June, TalkTalk today announced that it too is reducing prices.


BT has announced a series of price changes, including immediate reductions to the Option 2 and 3 package charges by 13% and 20% respectively, while increasing the cost of daytime calls by 8% from 1st August.


BT has announced its latest round of price cuts. Its Option 3 call package, which allows unlimited calls to landlines, has been cut from £9.95 to £7.95.


From 1 May 2007, BT will charge an extra £4.50 per quarter to customers who pay by cash or cheque. Late payment fees will also rise from £5 to £7.50.


Following pressure by Ofcom, BT has dropped plans to charge a £5 penalty to any customer switching to an alternative provider.


Post Office Ltd and BT have signed a new 5-year deal which allows four million BT customers to continue to benefit from the convenience of paying their phone bill at Post Office branches.


In a week that sees its third-quarter profits rise by 13% and shares reach a five year high, BT reveals new ‘stealth’ charges for phone customers, to be introduced in May.


From May 2007, BT will charge customers an extra £4.50 per quarter if they pay their bills by cash or cheque.
