Tributes have been paid to actor and comedian Mike Reid who has died aged 67. He played Frank Butcher in BBC One's EastEnders, making his last appearance in December 2005.

Doctor Who series four filming is underway with Catherine Tate joining the BAFTA award-winning BBC One drama series as The Doctor's brand new companion, Donna Noble. Award-winning actress Tate is reprising her role as Donna, the runaway bride who featured in last year's Doctor Who Christmas special.


Pet Shop Boys The Pet Shop Boys are to release ‘Disco 4’, the fourth album in a continuing series, on Parlophone on September 24. ‘Disco 4’ collects together the Pet Shop Boys’ extended dance mixes of The Killers, Madonna, Yoko Ono, Rammstein, Atomizer and David Bowie, as well as a new extended mix of PSB live highlight “Integral” and their maxi-mix of the single “I’m With Stupid”.


BBC Children in Need is distributing nearly £17million worth of grants this week which will help make a positive difference to the lives of disadvantaged children and young people around the UK. This August 2007 grant allocation is the second and final round of grants which will be made by the charity this year thanks to a current 2006 Appeal total of £32,434,944.
